Audre Lorde honored us with her grace and resilience as she openly shared her journey of being all the things for us to cherish "black, lesbian, mother, warrior, poet," and most importantly a resilient thriver. Her journey with cancer touched us all deeply, but her approach to radical self care and living a life of joy through her journey is what touched us the most. In this bright bold illustration through color and line I wanted to capture her wit and "I don’t care what other people think" bravado. This illustration represents the epitome of rest, joy and self care as a luxurious lifestyle.
